This appointment is the ideal way to explore breastfeeding prior to your baby’s arrival.
If this is your first baby, learning about how it all works can be a very reassuring start to your feeding journey and if it’s not your first baby then perhaps there were areas you would like to improve this time around, or it could be that you have a different plan in mind this time…..
This appointment will cover:
Your health, medications/surgeries etc
Breast examination (optional but definitely advised)
Previous breastfeeding experiences (if any)
Discussion of expectations/ hopes for this pregnancy
Why, how and will I be able to….?
Antenatal hand expressing (if appropriate)
Development of a cohesive plan
And anything else that you feel is important to you.

Initial postnatal visit… so we’re home, now what do we do?
You’ve made it home and you’ve welcomed the most beautiful baby, but the fog is real.
There is a myriad of situations that could be happening and this appointment is designed to guide you towards the very best start as we iron out those difficulties together.
This appointment will cover:
Comprehensive new born check and weight.
Breastfeeding difficulties, painful nipples, mastitis, difficulties with attachment, engorgement, supply concerns, feeding patterns and anything in-between.
Breast check
Feeding observation
Supplementary feeding assistance / mixed feeding (if required)
Delving into newborn behaviour.
Sleep and settling.
Wellbeing check in and emotional support
Postnatal check for mum (up to 6 weeks)
Referrals to other Health care providers if required
Development of a cohesive plan that suits your needs.
Fee: 90 minute appointment $280
Includes 1 week of ongoing support via phone/email

Follow up Post natal visits…For when you’re not ready to fly solo yet
Whether its expanding on an existing plan, needing more support or a new challenge has emerged, subsequent visits will offer ongoing assistance. Realistically there are rarely quick fixes with new babies, so it’s common to need to revise plans, or change the approach.
This appointment will be tailored to your specific needs, but can include:
Comprehensive newborn check and weight.
Breastfeeding difficulties, painful nipples, mastitis, difficulties with attachment, engorgement, supply concerns, feeding patterns and anything in-between.

Feeding observation
Supplementary feeding assistance / mixed feeding (if required)
Delving into newborn behaviour.
Sleep and settling.
Wellbeing ‘check in’ and emotional support
Postnatal check for mum (up to 6 weeks)

Revision of an existing plan to suit your ongoing needs.
Fee : 90 minute appointment $220
Includes 1 week of ongoing support via phone/email

Please note that travel beyond 10km from Bilambil heights will incur a travel fee dependant on distance.
Telehealth/zoom appointment…for when it’s just easier
Amidst the challenges of the early days, sometimes a phone call or zoom is more convenient. Although it can make it trickier to analyse a concern, these appointments are always available by arrangement.
Short appointment approx. 30 minutes $80
Longer appointment approx.60 minutes $180
Include 3 days of email support.

All services can be booked by calling/messaging Mel directly on 0438691127.
Once an appointment date and time has been booked, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required to confirm the appointment. You will directed to a payment link .
To avoid a cancellation fee for any services, if you need to reschedule, please contact me within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment. The 50% deposit will be retained after this time.
Life happens, so extenuating circumstances will always be considered.
